15 minute Initial Conversation over the phone – What to Expect
You can book a 15-minute conversation where we can get to know each other and explore whether hypnotherapy is the right approach for you.
This is a space where you can ask any questions which you may have about the process.
There is no obligation to book further sessions — it’s simply an opportunity for us to have an initial conversation and decide whether hypnotherapy feels right for you.
Initial Consultation – What to Expect
Your initial consultation is a structured first session, together we will talk about what you’d like hypnotherapy to help you with, what you’d like to achieve, and any questions you may have about the process. I’ll also ask a few questions about your medical history and any relevant information that may be helpful for me to understand, particularly in relation to anxiety and your overall wellbeing.
This is another chance for you to ask any questions and share what you’re hoping to change.
Together we will explore the brain, how hypnotherapy works, what trance is and why it is so powerful. During this session there is no hypnosis/trance, it is a session to gather the right infomation to structure the following sessions.
From your first hyposis session onwards, we will begin with a solution-focused conversation. I’ll ask you about what’s been good in your week and we will explore positive experiences, progress and the things that are going well in your life.
We will also use gentle, solution-focused questions, such as the Miracle Question, to help you imagine what life could look like if the changes you want were already happening. This helps us focus on your hopes, strengths and the future you want to create.
We will then move into trance, which is a very natural state that we all experience. It’s often similar to daydreaming or becoming deeply absorbed in something, such as getting lost in a book, listening to music or travelling a familiar route without consciously thinking about every detail. During trance, you’ll remain comfortable and in control while I guide you through the process.
Each session is tailored to you and your individual goals, helping you focus on positive change and taking steps towards your next chapter.
Hypnotherapy combines therapeutic conversation with hypnosis to help you make positive changes. During hypnosis, you enter a deeply relaxed and focused state, similar to daydreaming. You remain aware and in control throughout the session.

Sessions begin with a solution-focused conversation where we explore what’s been going well, your progress and what you’d like to achieve. Everyone is different, but most people benefit from around 8–12 sessions. The number of sessions you need will depend on your individual circumstances, goals and progress.
Before beginning your hypnotherapy sessions, we’ll have an initial consultation to discuss what you’d like support with, your goals and any relevant medical history. This gives us an opportunity to make sure hypnotherapy is suitable for you and answer any questions you may have.

You don’t need to have any particular beliefs about hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and relaxation that most people experience in everyday life. Being open to the process and willing to engage with the sessions can be helpful.
Hypnotherapy isn’t suitable for everyone or every situation. That’s why the initial consultation is important. We can discuss your circumstances and decide together whether hypnotherapy is an appropriate option for you.
